Midwifing an evolutionary new presence of relationship, sexuality, and humanity on Earth~                                                                                         

Prayer-formance is sacred intentional ritual performance art. Along with having an extensive background in professional dance I have been involved for many years with creating prayer-formance rituals for large community gatherings including large Dianic Wiccan gatherings for the pagan holy days and The Oracle Gatherings, large intentional electronic music gatherings out of the northwest. I have prayer-formed for upwards of a thousand people at at time. Prayer-formances are often theatrical and elaborately costumed. They usually enact sacred stories, archetypes, and/or rites. The prayer-formances I have helped co-create have often have environmental and/or spiritual themes.

I work in collaboration with many different artists to create alternative and inspirational media. I recently prayer-formed in the visionary art film Return to the Source (Click here to see a short clip of the video)and the Instructional Massage Video Femme a Femme Erotic Massage(Click here to see a short clip of the video). I currently prayer-form locally in San Fransisco and tour internationally with a collective of artists, performers, and erotic educators called the Tantric Circus.

I also facilitate Playshops on Tantra Yoga, Ecstatic Dance and Bellydance, as well as Tantric Rituals. In addition to Prayer-formance ritual I specialize in Bellydance, Burlesque, and Spoken Word.

Dance

I have an extensive background in Modern Dance, Bellydance, Yoga, and Performance art. My specialties include Ritual Prayer-formance, Bellydance, Burlesque, and Spoken Word. I enjoy theatrical, avant-guard, and co-creative multi-media performances.

I have performed with several well known Bellydance troupes and have been featured at numerous events, festivals, and restaurants. My previous training in Bellydance includes Tribal, Cabaret, and Gypsy-Fusion. I have performed extensively with both live bands and recorded music and enjoy dancing to both Traditional Middle-Eastern Music and Modern Electronic World Music. My performance sets include both slow and sensual taxim and high energy rhythmic dances. I perform with my silk veil, flamenco fan and skirt, fire and a real Symatar sword. Currently, I study with Jill Parker of Ultra Gypsy in San Fransisco and facilitate Ecstatic Dance Journeys and Ecstatic Bellydance.

Ritual

Ritual is an important way to acknowledge and mark important events and life passages. They support us by acknowledge the power and sacredness inherent in these experiences, helping us create a vision of what we want and set intentions and goals, and to ease transitions. I have an diverse and deep background in ritual creation and facilitation including Women's Circles, Dianic Wiccan Ritual, Tantric Ritual and spontaneous faerie indigo rituals. I can create and hostess a Ritual, Rite of Passage, and/or Celebration for any important event, community gathering, or personal life passage. I create personalized rituals for Menarche or First Blood, Weddings and Hand-Fastings, Blessingways (Native American style baby shower), Births, and Grieving and letting go rituals among others. Dance Bio

Amber learned yoga from her father at a young age and studied ballet passionately from adolescence on. She went to school for Modern Dance at UNCG, a liberal arts school well known for it's progressive dance department. She left school to travel and dance professionally with various dance troupes including Domba and Baraka Mundi World Dance and Music Ensembles specializing in traditional Middle-Eastern Dance and American Style Tribal Bellydance. She has been a featured performer at numerous events, festivals, and restaurants. Her diverse studies in dance include Ballet, Modern, Jazz, African, Flamenco, in addition to Cabaret and Tribal styles of Bellydance. She has been an active participant in the Techno Tribal Electronic Music and Dance movement for many years. Amber has helped co-create large theatrical ritual prayer-formances and events with spiritual and environmental themes including Dianic Wiccan Rituals in Asheville North Carolina, Full Moon Parties in Hawaii and with The Oracle Gatherings Collective out of the northwest. She has participated in and been inspired by ecstatic dance journeys with five rhythms dance teachers as well as Luna's Ecstasis Dance. Amber weaves her unique background and expertise in traditional dance forms like Bellydance with tantric, ecstatic, and shamanic practices. She currently perform locally in San Fransisco and tours nationally with a collective of artists, performers, and erotic educators called the Tantric Circus. She offers playshops on Tantra Yoga, Ecstatic Dance and Bellydance, as well as Tantric Rituals. In addition to Prayer-formance ritual she specializes in Bellydance, Burlesque, and Spoken Word. Dance has always been her personal practice for accessing ecstasy and union with the universe.
